There are going to be at least four classes from what we saw in the trailers, and mounts are a distinct possibility – we saw the characters riding giant fox-like creatures in the videos. They’ll want to get it onto as many platforms as possible, but they’re going to test the waters on PC first. Is Blue Protocol on PS4, PS5, Xbox, Mobile, Android?Īs for the other info we have – it’s coming to PC definitely, but consoles and mobile are still under consideration. For the prophets of disgrace who have been claiming for years that F2P is dead and buried, this is further proof that it only takes a committed team with a vision to once again excite millions of players around the world. So there you have it, Blue Protocol is a gorgeous triple-A anime MMORPG that is going to be released as a free to play game. The trademark has been registered in North America and Europe, as well, so we’re basically just waiting for an official confirmation at this point. The only reason we suspect there’s even going to be one is a job listing in which Bandai Namco looks for someone to spearhead the English localisation for Blue Protocol. Obviously, this means that any western release won’t happen before 2022, at least. Keep that in mind in case there’s more of them in the future – and there probably will be.
They were all in Japanese, of course, but the betas weren’t region locked, meaning anyone who knows the language could have taken part. It’s supposed to be released in late 2021, and there have been several bouts of closed beta testing already. Blue Protocol’s launch date hasn’t been set in stone yet – not even the Japanese version.
